  • I Might Buy It Again - 2004 Lexus ES 330

Like others, I have noticed transmission issues. Stopping at a stop sign and immediately starting again confuse the tranny. I have not had problems elsewhere. Freeway driving, merging, acceleration to get out of a jam...all excellent. No pull to the left issues w/mine. Drive the one youre going to buy. The interior is beautiful, comfy and convenient. The CD changer in the center console limits storage capacity. For the HP, the car is not responsive from 0, but, handles driving at speed nicely. I also like the Comfort vs. Sport suspension adjustment - it provides a noticeable difference in ride and handling. Beautiful car-should perform better.

  • Annoyances - 2004 Lexus ES 330

There are a few annoying features about this vehicle. Little things like the drivers side floor mat will not stay in place - the hook and grommet system just doesnt work. No. 2 is the turn signal that wont cancel, particularly when coming off a ramp in a sweeping curve, after going straight ahead the right signal doesnt cancel. Lexus service says they work fine! Last, and probably most important, the glare off the dash when driving into the sun makes it very difficult, if not impossible, to see anyone or thing at the roadside - polarized sunglasses help a bit. Other than theses issues, its a great car.

  • Great Car! - 2004 Lexus ES 330

I was looking to buy a car and mentioned I was shopping to my parents. They had this 2004 ES330 that was sitting in the garage and asked me if I wanted to buy it from them. I know they took it in for every servicing, its never been beaten on and always spotless. The price they offered me for it was too good to pass up. So, I am now the proud owner of a silver ES330. Ive been a BMW driver over the last 10yrs. (E36-M3, E46-M3, couple of 325is - xi and is, 328i, 745i and even a 76 - 2002!) but i have to say that the only thing i dislike about my ES is the soft suspension. its super quiet, decent power and looks great. im sold on the brand and will prob buy another one next time!

This car is a very good deal. But it would need faster acceleration

I couldnt decide between the ES330 and a C320 Mercedes. Now I wish I had gone for the Mercedes. This car is extremely uncomfortable and boring to drive. The interior is beautiful, but thats where it ends.

  • Do not buy this car! - 2004 Lexus ES 330

After driving a 95 ES 300 for 115,000 miles & 7 years this car is a MAJOR disappointment! Severe hesitation & rough shifting at times, acceleration from a stop is jerky, POOR mpg and overall sluggish. The dealer told me 1) theyve had a lot of complaints about the ES330 2)its a computer problem & 3) there is "NO FIX" for the problems! The 1995 ES 300 drove just as beautifully when I traded it in as the day I bought it. I am so sorry I bought this car!

  • Great car except for tranny - 2004 Lexus ES 330

car has great features, and quality feel on the interior.GreatSedan, and the 4th ES I have owned. Very, very disappointed in the hesitation/hold back from first to second gear, and really bad in bumper to bumper traffic.Fly by wire transmission cant learn between how it should control in staight road which is great, but in bumper2bumper its relearning new shifting patterns and =s jolting. The internet is full of writeups on this problem, and tires pulling left. The 2003 chip fix helped some, but hesitation can be dangerous.

  • Solid - 2004 Lexus ES 330

Slightly less mid range punch but ride experience same as LS 430 (290 hp)which I had owned. The interior executed perfectly. My wife says this is most beautiful of the 18 cars I have owned. Standart suspension pleasingly taut. Prior to purchase I had heard the steering was not too sporty, I strongly disagree.
